Dardan finance chief in the running for prestigious award
Alton Nutile, Dardan Security's head of commercial, is celebrating being selected as a finalist in the Institute of Directors (IoD) East of England Director of the Year awards for 2019.
The final will be held in the Jockey Club Rooms at Newmarket on 14th June 2019, and the winner will automatically be entered into the national Director of the Year award later in the year.
Alton has been acknowledged for the work he undertakes in the charitable sector outside of his day-to-day role at Dardan Security. He says that working in both the private sector and the voluntary sector gives him a sense of perspective and balance, and that he can use the skills and experiences from one field to add value to the other.
"Everything has to be scrutinised working for a local charity - the rules and regulations in the voluntary, community and social enterprise sector (VGSE) are different to those in a limited company or a PLC, but this allows me to bring a 'best practice' approach to corporate governance to both the charity and to Dardan Security," says Alton. "The end result is the same in both sectors - a satisfied customer and a financially-stable organisation - and so I am pleased to have been recongised for the professionalism and experience I bring to the table in both areas."
Simone Robinson, regional director of the IoD East of England, said, "We are delighted that Alton has been shortlisted for an IoD Director of the Year Award. These awards celebrate leadership excellence, focussing on the individual’s achievement, the importance of the director’s role in the community, and the commitment and expertise which contributed to the success of their business. Alton should be very proud to have been shortlisted and we wish him all the best for the regional finals."
